The business was started by Lance and Snow Pogones, Ron and Nadine Pogones, Jon Olson and LuAnn Rypka. The business focused on sporting goods initially, then in 1985, screen printing services were added along with a new partner, Steve Pfiefer. Games People Play expanded again in 1994 with the addition of on site embroidery services. Then, on a cold day in January 1996, a move was made to a newly remodeled building just east of OakPark Mall that remains the headquarters of Games People Play today.
