- Until recently most employee, training was done either on the job or in a classroom with an instructor. This reality is changing quickly as computer and Internet technologies have enabled trainings to be delivered via a digital medium. This medium can be a CD-ROM or DVD or installed on a computer, and increasingly these trainings can be delivered online via the Internet or intranets. In all cases, these trainings are interactive (to greater and lesser degrees) and they do not require an instructor – or the role of an instructor is minimized.
