- Seattle’s Olympic Sculpture Park just opened last month, affording views that span blue-gray Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains across it. Views that, until recently, were literally afforded by few – by the suburban moms who bring their kids to the Seattle Aquarium, by the downtown executives living in Alaskan Way condos or by the office workers who brave the slim gray running paths of Myrtle Edwards Park during lunch breaks. The sculpture park, with its inexplicably untouchable art, at least democratizes the view, if not the works featured within it. This park, though, could become part of something better; something that radically alters Seattle’s waterfront and brings people to the shores upon which this city was founded.
