So I stumbled on to something the other day and now I’m totally hooked. Thanks to Game|Life I discovered an online gaming website that contains over 5000 free flash-based browser games. The site is called Kongregate and in addition to the great library of games, they have an achievement system akin to the one offered by Microsoft’s XBox 360 System. Basically you gain achievements by performing certain tasks in each game. Each achievement is worth a certain amount of points (usually between 5 and 30, depending on difficulty). In real life these achievements amount to exactly nothing. But it doesn’t make them any less fun to try for. And the best part of everything is that the entire site and all of it’s games are free and Flash-based, which means no fancy hardware is required. But I digress… (more…)
