please remove our domain

whld1270.com and whldam1270.com The individual redirecting the domain to his own does not own it.

If those domains are yours, you need to e-mail us (at ) from the registered contact e-mail address in your WHOIS. — Nathan (talk)/ 21:56, 6 May 2007 (UTC)

redirect

the Peled.biz redirect to Humor.co.il, and it creates a duplicate page for the same site.

Done. Peled.biz now redirects to Humor.co.il. — Nathan (talk)/ 21:51, 6 May 2007 (UTC)

abilicom.com

Please correct the heading for our website rom upper/lowercase to either all uppercase (preferred) or all lower case. We do not capitalize our name as shown ("AbiliCom.com"). We would prefer "ABILICOM.COM" as the heading. Please note that ABILICOM is a registered Trademark, United States Registration no. 77031292 and that ABILICOM.COM is a Service Mark. This also applies to ABILICOM.CO.UK and ABILICOM.CA. Thank you! Brian Brown, President WUITAS, Inc. d/b/a ABILICOM

Strange pick-up of "related domains"

The listing for: bellusci.co.uk had the following as the address of the business: Fareham Enterprise Centre, Newgate Ln, Fareham Hampshire PO14 1TH UNITED KINGDOM - but this is not the address of the business, which is actually in a different part of the country. The correct address appears on the site's contact page. The following domains were included in your listing as being "related". They are not related and, so far as I know, are not referred to on the site. Do you have any idea where they might have been picked up from? Here they are:

Related Domains: Arpey.co.uk BuffaloSystems.co.uk CastingCollective.co.uk CityHotDesk.co.uk EightSquared.co.uk FrontLine.org.uk Gsinc.co.uk HifiCorner.co.uk HorseDeals.co.uk InstantMemories.co.uk JamesAndTaylor.co.uk LondonTicketShop.co.uk OakHall.co.uk Pop-Up-Stands.co.uk RedMagnet.co.uk RedStation.co.uk RedundancyHelp.co.uk Search-Line.co.uk SouthAfrican.co.uk SpiritMusic.co.uk Table-Tennis-Tables.co.uk Webdezign.co.uk

As this is a wiki, you are able to edit your domain page yourself and remove anything that doesn't look right - or if you're uncomfortable with that for some reason, we can do it for you. Nathan (talk) / 18:54, 13 May 2007 (UTC)

re: thetruthaboutgrandma.com

(moved from User talk:Nathan)

We are the owners of this content and website, and we need it immediately removed from your website, AboutUS.org. Please note that we have taken the page entirely down. When we delete content, please do not restore it because we have the copyright and it is urgent that you remove all content from our site, thetruthaboutgrandma.com. Urgent. Template:unsigned

I've answered this on the user's talk page, telling the user that an administrator will attend to their request when they have the time, regardless of how many times they say "urgent". Nathan (talk) / 23:32, 13 May 2007 (UTC)

(additional info moved from my talk page) We have emailed requests to multiple email addresses at aboutus.org this afternoon that the content be removed immediately. It is very urgent that you remove all content -- very urgent, and if you need an explanation, email us privately at the email address associated with this account. Not only is it urgent, but it is also copyrighted and the site is permanently down.

Also, the site has a domainsbyproxy email address for privacy reasons. Please respect our requests that you remove the content since as you should be able to see, we have taken the site entirely down. Template:unsigned

Remove my Domain Please

Please remove my domain, www.madison-hayes.com, from your site. You have reported private information which I understood was supposed to be protected in my service agreement with yahoo. I DO NOT WANT ANYONE to have access to my private information. I don't know how you got hold of it; it was supposed to be protected.

Please remove my domain entirely.

thank you

WHOIS information is not protected unless you choose the 'WHOIS cloaking' option. The AboutUs Bot grabs every piece of information about a domain which is visible. If your contact information was visible, then you need to talk to Melbourne IT (which is your domain registrar, not Yahoo) about cloaking it completely. Looking at your WHOIS information now, most of it is in fact cloaked, except the Organisation Name/Address/Phone which is the info that AboutUs grabbed.
Feel free to familiarise yourself with who we are and what we do, in case you're misunderstanding.
We will be happy to fulfill your request but you need please e-mail us (). After doing so, the information will be removed as quickly as possible. Thanks. Nathan (talk) / 02:08, 14 May 2007 (UTC)
Thank you, Nathan. I deleted the my private information. I appreciate the information you provided. I still wish to have my site removed so that your bot doesn't keep slapping it up there every time it makes its rounds. I will send the required email, requesting my website be deleted from About Us.
Yes, that's correct, you still have to e-mail. Only the administrators can remove that kind of information from a page. Actually the bot only visits sites once to gather the information it does unless we request what's called a "repopulate" of a page (that is if/when the bot makes a mistake). Thanks and have a good night. Nathan (talk) / 03:03, 14 May 2007 (UTC)
Information has been removed @ 23:10 EDT. Nathan (talk) / 03:13, 14 May 2007 (UTC)

RenewableEnergyInfo.org

[15:17:09] I'm trying to get AboutUs to create a page for [[RenewableEnergyInfo.org, but it's complaiing that it can't do it. It's a legit domain (url="http://renewableenergyinfo.org/") What am I doing wrong?

Adding more info: Bot can't create page. Nathan (talk) / 19:21, 15 May 2007 (UTC)

Fake Domains on your site which are Ads

Please search your Domain sites for references to the website http://Genuine-Pharmacy.com

These web pages are the subject of vicious widespread Email spam!

This is a wiki which you can edit yourself. You're more than welcome to edit the DomainPages of every spammed domain and add a bit about how the domain has been used in spam. This would be very helpful to other users. Please see CommunityReviewsFormatting if this is something you'd like to undertake. Thanks. (Note: I had to remove one word of your subject heading in order to reply) Nathan (talk) / 01:05, 15 May 2007 (UTC)

I would be very much more impressed by your service if you actually took the trouble to find and revoke such domains. As it is, your site ends up being a de facto spamhaus with no effective controls, and as such will become known as a good idea gone bad for lack of caring...

We are not a domain registrar. We have no access to "revoke" domains. Please see what we are about as you may have us confused with a domain registrar. Just because we show up on WHOIS'es doesn't mean we have access to remove/revoke every domain on the Internet. We are an information resource about websites and as such, we do have such controls (to remove spam). We mark sites as ParkingLots and delete spam when we find it. We are not the chaotic out of control site that you may think. As an information resource/directory about websites, we do check every single edit which is made and we revert anything that looks like spam. If you think we've missed something, please let us know. Nathan (talk) / 04:31, 21 May 2007 (UTC)

Capitalization

Hi. I was surfing around randomly and noticed that WeKnowsNow.com is capitalized wrong. The domain name should be parsed as "WeKnowSnow" - it's about skiing. I don't know how to correct that, or I'd do it myself. -GTBacchus 22:59, 15 May 2007 (PDT)

...and I just figured it out. Never mind. -GTBacchus 23:00, 15 May 2007 (PDT)
The AboutUs:Bot can be pretty wacky sometimes... Nathan (talk) / 21:07, 15 May 2007 (PDT)

Please remove our domain :)

thank you:)

In order to fulfill your request, please e-mail us at from the registered contact e-mail (on your WHOIS) for your domain. Thank you. Nathan (talk) / 20:14, 16 May 2007 (UTC)

Hello Nathan. I hereby contact you guys with the same question via email. Maybe i worded it wrong

PLEASE CHANGE THE LINK ON ABOUT US WEBSITE from www.AustrianFilm-Designers.com to http://www.FilmDesigners.at

We did a complete renewal of our website including a new - better-rememberabel-link.

thank you :) .................................. ::

VÖF - Verband Östereichischer FilmausstatterInnen - Austrian Filmdesigners Association - http://www.FilmFesigners.at

Redirect is in place. Nathan (talk) / 08:29, 22 May 2007 (UTC)

Could you eventually delete the www.AustrianFilm-Designers.com from your website all together ? it will die in some weeks anyway :)

So you know, DomainPages here don't start with "www". I'll tag it for deletion. Nathan (talk) / 21:50, 22 May 2007 (UTC)

Ohhh... ! sorry for that www-thing :) Thank you for deleting it, there is no point in keeping the old address, as it will simply run out in some weeks, and no longer exist. Thank you very much  !!!

It will be deleted when an administrator gets round to it. Tagging the page alerts the admins that there's a page needing deletion. Nathan (talk) / 09:33, 23 May 2007 (UTC)

What were you thinking?

I cannot believe that you post information that individuals have specifically requested be kept private! I asked for PRIVATE REGISTRATION with Network Solutions & WHOIS, and now they link to your site? With my private details??? Why isn't this illegal?

We do not purposefully include private information of anyone who do not wish to be included. You can very easily request this information to be removed by e-mailing . It is likely that the information was gathered before you requested to have your WHOIS cloaked. Perhaps you require some clarification of who and what we are? Nathan (talk) / 16:58, 17 May 2007 (UTC)

REMOVE ME

I signed up on your site before I realized it wasn't what I really wanted. Please REMOVE ME and all related information upon receipt of this message.

Firstly, typing in all capital letters is generally perceived as shouting by most seasoned Internet users. You don't have to scream at us.
You can request removal of your DomainPage yourself by e-mailing from the registered contact e-mail address (on your WHOIS) of your domain. Once that e-mail is received, the information will be promptly removed. As for your username if you have one, just don't use it. Nathan

Private WHOIS data

Domains that have privacy protected from WHOIS by their domain register are not being protected in AboutUs. --Simon | talk 21:06, 19 May 2007 (PDT)

If that's the case it's probably because when we got the record it wasn't private. But we're happy to get rid of the contact info for any such domain. - Ray | talk
But if the page is created today, and the domain was protected awhile ago, shouldn't it not appear like that? Does AboutUs use a different feed? --Simon | talk 21:22, 19 May 2007 (PDT)
We get data from a few sources and one of them must have been out of date :-( - Ray | talk

Slow load times when logged in.

I find it very difficult to post edits when I am logged in, but when i'm not logged in it seems to be fine most of the time.

My userid is dave2 202.72.138.185 06:48, 23 May 2007 (PDT)

Hi Dave, this is the first I have heard of this issue, I know about the slowness issue, it is very frustrating! I will let the development team know. Best, MarkDilley

Changing username

Hi. I'm looking for the Changing username special page. Does AboutUs have this feature? Example: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Changing_username

If not, I'd like my username to be "Corey Salzano" instead of "Coreysalzano"

Thanks

We don't have that feature and in fact, most MediaWiki wikis don't either. Just create a new account for now. Nathan (talk) / 20:07, 23 May 2007 (UTC)

Please add some complicated geographical domains

Some Canadian domains are in the format example.cityname.province.ca, such as www.town.truro.ns.ca or www.cfsc.ottawa.on.ca AboutUsBot) doesn't seem to be able to handle such domains. Could you please add those two? You will find their registration information at cira.ca, the Canadian whois database. Similarly, could you add state.nj.us and all the other state domains of the format state.twoletterabbreviation.us (state.ca.us, state.vt.us, etc. for all the two-letter postal abbreviations for US states) These are the original domains used by most U.S. state governments, although many states now prefer to use easier-to-remember domains such as vermont.gov (which is already in your database). --Iapetus 14:28, 23 May 2007 (PDT)

Please see AddSubdomain. Best, MarkDilley

editing the Erich-fromm.de page

I have started editing a (very)few changes on this page (which is NOT my domain by the way...). But there is some additionnal work to be done and I cannot manage it : above the box xith the thumbnail picturing the site on the right of the page, the "direct link to this page" links, in fact, to a picture not to the page. The correct adress there should not bewww.erich-fromm.de but www.erich-fromm.de/e/index.htm

Please remove ALL my sites from this place. Nobody gave you permission to put personal information on this site. Content is copyright. There are laws. I suggest you read them!

Please remove all my sites from this place. Content is copyright and there are privacy laws. I suggest you familarise yourself with the laws.

On the large blue banner atop this page, you were pointed toConcernsFAQ. Please go back and read it. Snippits from websites, images/logos, page names, etc all fall under Fair Use (Google does something similar and are they against the law?). If you want to opt out of AboutUs, that is also in the FAQ - however, I strongly suggest you use a more constructive and neutral tone. Screaming COPYRIGHT VIOLATION!!!!!! at us and being hostile is not constructive (typing in all uppercase is shouting). We don't know what "all" your websites are unless you tell us so please send us an e-mail as the FAQ outlines.
However, if you would like some help in editing your domain pages instead, I'm more than happy to work with you - just pop a comment on my talk page (using a constructive and neutral tone) with what you'd like done. Nathan (talk) / 05:28, 27 May 2007 (UTC)
