CICG - The California Institute for County Government
Description
After six years of conducting public policy research and providing analytical services to California counties, the California Institute for County Government has closed its doors.
CICG was initially founded with support from the California State University, Sacramento and the California State Association of Counties. During the past year, both of these sponsors were forced to withdraw their support for CICG. The governing board and I worked very hard during this period to identify alternative sources of financial support. Unfortunately, without the basic support from CSUS and CSAC, we were unable to find a way to keep CICG operating.
I am very proud of what we accomplished during the past six years. We published more than four dozen reports and essays, built an extensive database of economic and demographic statistics, launched a popular clipping service, and assisted many counties in addressing challenging public policy issues.
