- If you have been flying Southwest for a while, you may be familiar with our contention that we are a Customer Service organization that just happens to fly airplanes. An overriding focus on Customer Service touches all parts of our Company, and we even classify our Customers into two categories. Of course, each of the almost 32,000 Southwest Employees is working to provide our External Customers (you, our passengers) with the best possible service, even if not all Employees interact directly with passengers. However, all of our Employees also have another group of Customers, our Internal Customers (their Coworkers).
