ARMWare was started as an outlet for all my computer explorations and creations. As a young, aspiring geek I started learning about hardware and configuring such hardware via a command prompt. Being 8 years old at the time it was one hell of a challenge for me, but I soon discovered that by simply sacrificing what little social life I had I could overcome the challenge. As time went on I acquired faster computers and eventually an actual job leading me to be able to afford a computer than can run such fancy games as Doom, Quake and Unreal. Yes, the originals. I had bought the games so I could play them later on in life when I had a computer that could handle them and that day came around in early 2001. While waiting around for a faster computer I learned a lot more about the software end of things. I bought Debian Linux and installed it (many, many times before I got it right. Hey - I was a newbie attempting Debian. Sue me). I started playing with KDE and Gnome (when I had gotten around to learning enough about Linux to configure X Windows, which required learning vi) which led me to The Gimp where I picked up many skills and a fascination with image editing. Yet I continued on, moving away from Gimp and into editing more configuration files manually. This involved a lot of trial and error, and an uncountable number of reinstalls on a 66mhz 486.
