AUnet: Blue Version (also known as simply AUnet) is a website created by RFS Media Productions to tie into the popular web fad of flash loops. A "flash loop" is defined as a Shockwave file that displays an animated GIF file and simultaneously plays a looping music track that somehow is relevant to the animation. AUnet was created and launched on February 12th, 2006 and gets its domain name from the company's "rival", the now defunct AceUplink.com. February 12th was the day that the AceUplink domain name would expire, and because the webmaster was notoriously slow to pay the bills, the company jumped at the bit to backorder the domain, along with registering other domain names to prevent a re-launch.

While the domain did expire, domain sharks gained control of it. With a few website ideas in mind and now some extra domains, RFS Media Productions began the creation of a test website just for fun, and AUnet was created. The website at its launch was called GoldNet (since "AU" is the symbol of the element Gold) but was changed to simply AUnet after a few weeks of operation. AUnet is one of many websites that contain flash loops, but unlike most of them AUnet is mostly safe to view in a public place aside from a few loops that contain explicit lyrics.
