Welcome to the University of Maine at Augusta
Our mission is to provide the people of Maine with the opportunity to obtain an accessible, affordable, supportive, high-quality college education.
To fulfill that mission, UMA operates campus locations in Augusta, and Bangor (The University College of Bangor). We also make many of our courses and degree programs available at University College locations and at over 100 Interactive Television sites throughout the state of Maine.
With nearly 6,000 students, UMA has distinguished itself by offering top-quality, career -focused degree programs designed for today's workplace. Over 70 percent of our students take classes on a part-time basis with 75 percent of our students in degree programs. Most of our students are non-traditional adult learners who work, raise families, and take classes. Our classes are conveniently scheduled during the day and evening hours, with many courses using distance education technologies.
