TheHungerSite.com lets visitors click a "give free food" button daily to generate free food donations for hungry people worldwide, funded by sponsor advertising. It is owned and operated by Tim Kunin and Greg Hesterberg of CharityUSA.com, who acquired it in August 2001. Originally launched in June 1999, it was the first online activism site of its kind; more than 200 million visitors have collectively donated over 300 million cups of staple food.
