- scot-rail.co.uk is the site for railway enthusiasts with an interest in Scottish railways. scot-rail was started up in April 1999 as a mailing list using Yahoo!Groups. It's original aim was to provide a rail-gen type group as at the time there was little in the way of Scottish content on the original rail-gen list. It soon grew to become an all round group for anyone interested in Scottish railways. Recently it became obvious that a single mailing list wasn't able to meet the needs of the different interests that the members had, and in July 2006 scot-rail was split into a set of five mailing lists, based on the new scot-rail.co.uk website.
