Southside Baptist Church was constituted on January 26, 1947 with seventy-eight charter members. Dr. Oland Wilson was the first pastor and served sixteen years. The church has had seven pastors in its sixty-year history. Southside grew from a small number of spirit-filled Christians and God has blessed the commitment and dedication of the members through the years.
