As adults, most of us have good coping skills. What baffles us is that those same skills don’t work very well when we apply them to our families. Set a boundary with Mom? Why does my brother treat me like a child, I’m 54 years old!! These dilemmas that surface in our mid 50’s can be viewed as a time to grow into a new sense of self as that we relate in a new way to our parents and siblings.
