Additional Information
Down to Earth is a Landscape company offering Landscape Design / Build / Maintenance services in Raleigh, Cary, Apex, Holly Springs, Durham, Wake Forest, Chapel Hill and the Triangle RTP area. We offer turnkey exterior services for the entire Landscape Design / Build process. Are you interested in extensive installation, landscape maintenance, or treatment of one area of your garden? Let our experienced and creative staff of landscape designers help create the beautiful and functional setting you envision. We handle all aspects of landscape installation from grading to annual beds. Watergardens, koi ponds, and swimming pool landscapes are a specialty in which we excel.
We start with an initial consultation to determine your goals, preferences, tastes, and get a feel for the property. If you would like a full plan, we need a copy of your property survey to begin. Usually, you can contact the surveyor and request a copy of the plan in AutoCAD to be emailed to us. We then perform a full site analysis including a soil test, site measurements of existing features, and an inventory of existing plants. Views in and out of the property are considered as well as the various microclimates and soil type in placing the right plant in the right place. Drainage issues are noted as are circulation patterns. Preliminary plans are generated to illustrate various concepts and possibilities for the overall plan. Once we have finalized a concept and narrowed choices of materials, we put together the final plan and estimates. This is just a very brief summary of the design process.
As a design/build company, we generally take on designs in which we will be handling the bulk of the installation. We rarely take on "design only" projects but do have many clients who like to install some of the smaller plants or perennials themselves. We might tackle the majority of the project that requires the skilled labor and special equipment, but still leave a few areas for the weekend DIY'er to complete if desired.
At Down to Earth we can create a custom watergarden for you and your surrounding landscape. Whether you need a small fountain near the back patio to add the sound of water or a 25,000 gallon Koi pond to raise prized show quality Koi we can design a water garden to fit your needs. There is a big difference in a true "koi pond" and a "water garden". We can walk you through the differences and help decide which best suits your needs. Click here to email us any questions you may have about water gardens or to just let us know you are interested in more information.
