City council is slated to pass a resolution tonight, Aug. 13, to hire an attorney to determine whether the city’s 2005 “pay-to-play” ordinance is legal under state law. The resolution authorizes a professional services contract between council and the law firm of Seth Grossman and Robert Leofflad of Somers Point to investigate allegations made against municipal public defender Douglas Walker and Mayor Sal Perillo, who allegedly violated the city’s 2005 pay-to-play ordinance.
