The Northwestern Band of Shoshone Nation, in an effort to renew its sovereignty and create sustainable economic development, created the Tribe's Economic Development Corporation. Possessing little land and no natural resources, the Tribe emphasized development that capitalized on its assets: integrity, innovation and intelligence. Each Director on the Corporation's Board is appointed by the Tribal Council, but they are immune to political removal (similar to the US Supreme Court).
