nwFreeStyle.com is provides snowboard coaching and training in the Northwest.

The NW FreeStyle Training Program was founded for the purpose of providing ‘best-in-class’ coaching and training opportunities to young athletes with the passion and potential to reach their dreams of competing successfully in their individual ‘extreme’ sport and at the game of life.

Every parent of a gifted or passionate young athlete should not need to worry about the negative activities typically associated with snowboarding enthusiast and extreme sports culture in general. FSTP operates with the highest standards of positive behavior and attitude for both athletes and coaches.

FSTP exists to provide a fun, positive, and family-friendly training environment to maximize each athlete’s long term success in every area of their life through the pursuit of excellence in Freestyle Snowboard and/or Ski competition.

Head Coach, Timothy Ganstrom, has been a competitive freestyle snowboarder since the early 1990's. Tim began competing for the sole purpose of riding the best half-pipes and then developed one of the nation’s first University Snowboard Teams. Members of that team qualified and ranked nationally for 4 seasons during and after Tim’s coaching. Consistently displaying a desire to help others enjoy snowboarding as much as he does, Tim has been instructing all levels of snowboarding and coaching other instructors for over 10 years.

After moving to the Seattle area in 2001, Timothy again tested himself in competition, this time at the Pro-level, in-spite of being entirely self-funded. Again, his own training program produced results, with podium finishes at the amateur level, and top-ten results at the Pro-level. For many seasons, Timothy enjoyed the responsibilities of SB-Training Director for Lyon’s Ski School, one of the premier Learning and Race Development programs in the country.

Today, Tim’s passion is to develop the young ‘undiscovered’ talent of the Northwest into World-class athletes who also become exemplary citizens and positive role-models to their peers. He holds the top levels of Instructor certification and Freestyle Accreditation from AASI. (The American Association of Snowboard Instructors.)
