Melting Pot Music was founded in 2002 by Oliver "Olski" von Felbert, a DJ, music activist and former Groove Attack / Superrappin A&R from Cologne, Germany. The first commercial release was a 45 single by Lefties Soul Connection from Amsterdam. 500 copies pressed and sold-out within three weeks. Some four years later MPM is the home of artists like DJ Day, A-ko, Devil McDoom, Hawkeye, Le Scratchfunk, Upskiboo and Imperial Breed.
