2000年10月，当时建立网站的时候，正是互联网疯狂“烧钱”的年代，美国那斯达克（ＮＳＤＡＱ）股市狂升，正值网络眼球经济时代，免费空间提供商比比皆是，有的甚至免费提供超过１０Ｇ的网站空间，其中有163，亿唐等。那时，版主老古也为做某个项目在网上搜集自己需要的资料，那时就想，何不将这些资料放在一起，建立一个网站，一方面方便自己查找、备份，另一方面也方便给其它网友提供下载呢？于是有了建立网站的想法。在亿唐和163申请了10G免费主页空间之后便开始了网站建设。建立了老古硬件屋，也就在那1年，也有很多类似的网站诞生。 2001年初，互联网开始降温，北京倒下一大批泡沫网站，只有财大气粗的网站继续“烧钱”。我网站的内容也越来越多，改起来越来越繁锁，这时开始学习动态网页（ASP）的程序设计，逐渐将一些内容改为ASP、连接数据库。那个时候，静态的网站空间易找，动态的ASP空间就较难申请了，用了一段时间免费的ASP网站空间，不稳定，老死机。怎么办？网站也建设了差不多半年了，花了不少的心血，不能半途而废吧？终
