David Abels CHICAGO PERSONAL INJURY ATTORNEYS As a law partner at Abels and Annes, P.C., David focuses his law practice on helping those injured in accidents, including car crashes, bike accidents, pedestrian accidents, nursing home neglect and abuse, slip and fall claims and wrongful death cases. He has been working hard to collect millions of dollars for his injured clients over the past 15 years.
Dave was raised in Evanston, Illinois. He earned his BA degree from the University of Wisconsin at Madison in 1991, and received his law degree from the John Marshall Law School, Chicago in 1994. His is licensed to practice law in both Arizona and Illinois.
After law school Dave started his career as a prosecutor in Henry County, Illinois. He tried over 20 jury trials and numerous bench trials during his time at the State's Attorney's Office where he worked on felony, misdemeanor and traffic cases.
Dave started helping injured people in 1997, and that has been the focus of his practice ever since. That year he joined the personal injury law firm of Foreman & Foreman, Ltd., which was re-named Foreman & Abels, P.C. several years later.
In 2005 he opened his own law office, again only working on personal injury cases. He currently handles cases ranging from those seriously injured in accidents, to those abused or neglected in a nursing facility, to wrongful death cases. Just a few years later, Dave partnered with respected personal injury litigator Gary Annes, forming the firm of Abels and; Annes, P.C.
Dave focuses his practice to the representation of victims who are injured through the fault of another. This is because Dave believes that representing victims is the right thing to do and fighting for justice is who Dave is as an attorney. His practice of representing only plaintiffs and only in personal injury cases makes Dave focused and knowledgeable in his chosen area of law. His skills allow him to fight giants like corporations and government entities if they are responsible for the injuries of a client and Dave does hesitate in his representation of victims.
Dave’s work has led him to be involved in several high profile cases. Though this representation, Dave has been interviewed for several news programs covering the cases and other media outlets have sought his opinions from time to time. As a well respected member of the legal community, Dave continues to fight for each and every client he represents and will continue to do so until the case is settled.
