Description
Although our main interest with Australian Kelpies has been in the Show Ring (and in earlier years obedience and agility), in more recent times, myself and several other Australian Kelpie breeders have tried our hand at a very basic level of sheep herding.
Even though it's perormed under controlled conditions via the guidance of an ANKC approved herding judge, it goes a long way to proving that Show Kelpies (sometimes referred to as "Bench Kelpies"), have a considerable level of herding instinct.
Although this type of herding with ANKC registered Aust Kelpies is very much in it's early stages, in years to come and as it's popularity grows, I believe there will be many more Australian kelpies and their owners, that will go a long way in this activity.
