Title

The Paleo-Linguistics Research Centre - Inspiration For Tomorrow From The Insights Of Yesterday

Description

The Centre concentrates on the linguistic analysis of grammatical forms of ancient Hebrew, Aramaic and other Near Eastern contemporary analogues in an effort to create a better picture of the religious and cultural milieu of the Hebrew people as it existed in the centuries predating the Christian era.

The Centre is the only independent research institute of its kind in the Northeast. It is located close by the campuses of the University of Hartford, the University of Connecticut, and the Hartford Seminary, and often relies on scholars from these facilities for project assistance.

The Centre was founded by Rabbi J. D. Sandberg, D.D. in 2004. Schooled at the Ba’er Yaakov Rabbinical Seminary in Israel and ordained in 1975 in Arnhem, Gelderland, in The Netherlands, Rabbi Sandberg is trained in the Dutch Orthodox Sefardic Jewish tradition. A student of near eastern languages and culture, Rabbi Sandberg is a leading authority on the the contributions of the Sefardic lingua franca, Judezmo, to the evolution of Sefardic religious and social fabric and to the Jewish liguistic milieau overall.
