Education
graduated first in his class at UC San Diego with his bachelor's in biochemistry (Valedictorian, Summa cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa, and captain of the National champion UCSD soccer team) earned his MD from Harvard University Medical School
Research
conducted research on FDA-guided refractive surgery studies focused on LASIK, Intacs and phakic intraocular lenses
Fellowship
ompleted his fellowship in laser and corneal refractive surgery at the world-renowned Sinskey Eye Institute in Southern California
Ophthalmology Residency
completed his ophthalmology residency at the California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco where he received the Wayne Erdbrink Award for outstanding ophthalmology research
