Solar Solve Marine has developed a solution to protect ships' navigators ice sight. The company recently dispatched a consignment of its SOLASAFE anti-glare roller screens to a survey vessel heading for the Antarctic.

Solar Solve's Paul Hopkins, explains: "The screens were originally developed to protect ships' navigators against the glare and heat from the sun. However, they have proved to be equally effective in areas where there are masses of ice and snow. They still have the same beneficial glare-rejection properties and a reverse effect regarding the heat. They reject the cold outside air and help to retain the warm air inside the bridge. As well as the very high heat and glare-rejection rates of the screens, they also absorb 97% of the UV light."
