A consensus poll facilitator helps participants with making decisions through discussions and by articulating the issues in a better way. Also, it is important for the consensus poll facilitators to direct polls in such a manner that they can reach a conclusion in optimal time; but at the same time ensure that the process is given enough time to evolve naturally. The responsibilities of a consensus poll facilitator include:
- Actively participates in discussions
- Facilitates participants by articulating their issues in a better way
- Takes corrective measures to resolve edit wars and dead ends
- Gives direction to the process while ensuring that the process evolves naturally
