Innovators in Architectural Glazing

cantifix.jpg
Starting as a conservatory business, Cantifix soon developed a positive reputation amongst architects.

Four years later in 1990, Cantifix completed a groundbreaking, experimental project with Eva Jiricna Architects, involving frameless glass panels, bonded with silicone; and no structural support. The project was a success and a new era began as structural glazing experts.

Over the subsequent years Cantifix has stood by its core values of quality, innovation, attention to detail and co-operation; and has grown largely through referrals and repeat business.

The company now has a wide customer base of architects, designers and contractors, and aims to remain permanently at the forefront of the glazing industry.

:*Framed Glazing Framed glazing is the alternative to structural glazing, and uses framed panels to create a glass façade. It is quicker and cheaper than structural glazing, and is capable of covering larger expanses. Cantifix framed glazing is fabricated with aluminium profiles and low-emissivity glass.

  • Glass enclosuresA glass enclosure or ‘glass box’ typically includes a glass roof which is structurally bonded to the vertically glazed walls. This can be designed in a limitless range of configurations, and constructed using either structural or framed glazing. All Cantifix glass enclosures are fabricated using aluminium profiles and structural silicone where required, and low-emissivity glass.
  • Sandblasted Glass When glass is sandblasted, the natural light transmitted through it is reduced by about 30%, and is flattened and made more consistent. Sandblasting is usually used for matters of privacy, but also provides a certain degree of anti-slip. Cantifix double-glazed units are always sandblasted inside the cavity, so there are no issues with keeping the surface clean.

Projects

Penthouse flat, basement conversion or side-return extension – we have worked on a wide range of city dwellings, with projects ranging from Slideglaze sliding roof terraces to Blink glass bathroom enclosures.

  • Barnes Light floods in from a multitude of angles in this stunning Sky-Frame project, creating a perfect space for relaxation. The Sky-Frame sliding doors are over 10 metres wide, and use a 3-track system with 2 fixed end panels to allow a very large opening. The flush threshold maximises the connection with the outdoors and compliments the clean, stylish interior.
  • Islington This stunning addition to the existing brick built extension increases the views across the rear of the terrace and attracts south facing light into the main body of the property. The increased floor space using structural glass in a variety of ways, fixed to the floors, enables a much larger floor area.
  • Albert Bridge The purpose of a glass enclosure is not always to increase the usable space within a house. It can become a lightwell to bring much needed light to basement areas and a means of connecting different areas and even different floors.
