- The text and pictures of which this site is comprised were discovered in an abandoned log and frame dwelling located in western Rockbridge County, Virginia in the late autumn of 1986. The dwelling was identified during a cultural resource survey of the county being conducted by architectural historians under contract with the state preservation office.
