Slate and Shell, Publisher of Books on the Game of Go (Baduk, Weiqi, Goe)

Description

Slate and Shell was created by three active go players (William Cobb, Gordon Fraser, and Chuck Robbins) in the Fall of 2000 to promote go, primarily by publishing high quality go books in English. We produce books for every level of player, from beginner to advanced, but our focus is on books to help weaker players get stronger.

Some of our books have been drawn from Go Review (the now defunct English language journal published by the Nihon Kiin in the 1960's and 70's). We also publish books by current professionals, such as Michael Redmond 9 dan, Yasuda Yasutoshi 9 dan, and Yilun Yang 7 dan, and will be publishing more new books from others, such as "Jujo" Jiang 9 dan, Mingjiu Jiang 7 dan, and Feng Yun 9 dan. We have books by strong amateur players, as well, such as Yuan Zhou and Richard Hunter.
