Since 1978, the shop's founders, Marcia and John Lenser, opened their first store in San Francisco's bustling Pier 39 boardwalk and learned first-hand how this mission of creating one of the most popular stops for tourists and collectors was a successful combination. In 2003, The San Francisco Music Box was purchased by Calendar Club L.L.C, a subsidiary of Barnes and Noble. Our operations and fulfillment offices are in Austin, Texas, in a state-of-the-art 500,000-square-foot facility.
