BORDERPOL® is unofficially known as the "world border organization" registered in Canada as a not for profit organization. It is a multidisciplinary border security organization, governed by representatives from eleven national border services and managed by professionals with extensive international legal, diplomatic, academic, enforcement and administrative backgrounds. Legally incorporated in March 2003, BORDERPOL promotes and facilitates international co-operation, consulatation and communications among mational border security and border management organizations.

BORDERPOL complements national organizations that have a mandate to regulate the movement of people, goods or services across borders. BORDERPOL does not compete with intergovernmental organizations that are involved with security issues associated with the movement of people, goods or services.
