FREE Comic Book Day!!!
On Saturday, May 7th, Comics Plus in St. George will be celebrating the comic book art form with Free Comic Book Day! This is a single day when over two million comic books will be given away FREE by participating comic book stores across the USA.
Celebrating its 10th year, FCBD has proven to be a smashing success, spreading the word that comics are terrific reading. The wide array of comic books being published today ensures that readers of all ages can find something appropriate that will stir their imaginations. The Comic Book industry has propelled to the front ranks of pop culture with many books being adapted into movies and tv shows.
To help celebrate this wonderful event, local Southern Utah artist Kimber Rose, a fast, up and coming artist, will be making her first appearance at Free Comic Book Day! She will be on hand doing a free store signing, showcasing her work and will have art for sale.
Also, local band, Jupiter will be playing live music to entertain you on Free Comic Book Day. Come on by FCBD and listen as they perform covers to popular comic book songs, cartoon shows and hear some of their original music, including their “Spock” song.
Bring the kids by to see some of their favorite costumed characters: Captain America, Supergirl, Spider-man, Catwoman and Star Wars characters like Darth Vader, Chewbacca, C3-P0 and Stormtroopers.
