In the BBC television programme The Choir, Gareth Malone takes choral music to challenging situations. In the first episode of The Choir he goes into a comprehensive school and sets up a new school choir. In the next series, Boys Don't Sing (2008), he repeats the exercise in an all-boys school. The third series, entitled Unsung Town, features Gareth forming a community choir in a council estate.
