Perhaps move this to AboutUs:AboutUsBot?—♦♦ SʘʘTHING(Я) 02:43, 27 August 2006 (PDT)
- I think ok in either help or AboutUs Namespace --User:Ray King | talk 02:46, 27 August 2006 (PDT)
I personally like it in the main namespace. We should all come to a decision about this. SmoothR, are you available to Skype chat? Best, MarkDilley
I moved this to AboutUs:Bot just for consistency. But still interested in having about conversation. MarkDilley, leave messages here
- Alright then. How does MSN Messenger sound? And by the way, my name is SoothingR not SmoothR :P—♦♦ SʘʘTHING(Я) 10:52, 13 September 2006 (PDT)
i had added robots.txt which prohibited all crawlers and i entered my site (http://www.yourguidetoindia.com) into the search the first time and it appears to have got excluded i then modified my robots.txt now i am not able to add how do i add it back i tried searching for help and did not find any so trying this
- I took care of this by deleting the page and then re-adding, which sent the bot to try again. Seems to work now, yes? YourGuideToIndia.com TedErnst 10:30, 25 November 2006 (PST)

It would be interesting for folks to see the bot's edits I think, so please consider linking to Special:Contributions/AboutUsBot on the attached page. --Kingboyk 12:13, 1 December 2006 (PST)
Thumbnail Pic
Hey, I was curious about how I could update the bot's thumbnail pic that was originally put in the AboutUs article. My site it WikiLou.com and it has changed a lot since then. Thanks!
Yes there is. Instructions can be found on the UpdateThumbnail page.

Bot source code
Where is the source code for this bot? How does it determine "Related Domains"?
- I've found that at least some of this information is gleaned from Alexa (which also may illegally list your personal data); see http://www.aboutus.org/User_talk:80.127.23.92 for more -- JavaWoman
- I wonder the same thing -- how does the bot determine "Related Domains"? --DavidCary 19:59, 6 January 2008 (PST)
Spelling
"publically" should be "publicly". As a rule of thumb, don't spell words with "-ally" unless there's a corresponding word with "-al". So, "cynically" and "critically" but "publicly". --Evan 15:10, 11 May 2007 (PDT)
Not looking at Disallow?
The page for my domain, schwern.org, says I elected not to initialize the page. The robots.txt only disallows one directory, my SVN web repository, from all robots.
User-agent: * Disallow: /svnweb/
The bot should have been able to do it's thing. Is the bot not looking at the Disallow line? --Schwern 04:59, 12 December 2007 (PST)
MR. Bot can you help us?
Bot please, when you visit Flash and CSS DOM pages find the descrption of the Website, it will make it easier on us human editors to write it by hand about what the site is about.
