Discussion

I would like this version (nav5) to have the style of Version Four, but with less think lines. ~~ MarkDilley

  • I like that too, however, could we see a dummy of the page? My concern is that white bubbles on white might get lost or look busy. -- FatimaRaja 20:40, 16 December 2007 (PST)
  • I was not certain if this was what you were looking for and noticed people also liked nav2 so I made a modified version of that one also (see nav6), If you feel another design is required I'm happy to play around with whatever ideas you have :) WayToHope (talk)

Result: Nav5

I prefer when the bubbles don't touch each other. TedErnst (talk) 07:20, 17 December 2007 (PST)

  • As requested the bubbles should not touch each other in this version :) WayToHope (talk)

Result: Nav7

Where would these buttons go? Would this replace the 'useful links' box? WillyP | talk 18:16, 17 December 2007 (PST)

  • The proposed location would be the replacement of the navigation bar located on the main pages such as when you click one of the button/item options above (follow the links to see the template in action on the top of the pages to better understand). This will not effect the useful links menu located to your right, this menu is more for a graphical or aesthetics and not one of greater functionality hence the community input is openly welcomed on this design process/decision. WayToHope (talk)
  • I would like to see no buttons, put the links in the 'useful links' box, or as text in the existing bar, the one with 'article | history | move' in it. I like clean pages. WillyP | talk 16:46, 19 December 2007 (PST)

I absolutely love #4 and really want to thank Nathan for taking the time to help. I think we should start using it YESTERDAY! I would also like to rally for a quick decision because this is so much better than what is currently being used. (Arguments against what we have: Blue clashes with the site colors, square corners do not meld with our more fluid design). 75.148.54.233 Sorry! That was me! Julia

I don't know who that is. MarkDilly? Anyway, the lines are just too dark for me in #4. Too oppressive. I like #7. And I also like the blue ones. TedErnst (talk) 16:33, 19 December 2007 (PST)

I prefer Number 7 as it's clean, uncluttered. Number 4 does look good on the Portals page. Di | talk 04:27, 20 December 2007 (PST)

I'm wondering what #4 (or 7) would look like with the bottom left corner squared like the logo border...could be good! Julia

  • As requested I have made the bottom left corner squared just to see what it would look like... WayToHope (talk)

Result: Nav8 & Nav9

Wow... quick & very cool. I love them! Julia

I love #9!!!

Love it, love it, love it! TedErnst (talk) 09:33, 21 December 2007 (PST)

Hi, WayToHope, I hate to be too nitpicky but I'm wondering if you could make an option that is somewhere between 8 & 9 in terms of line thickness? If you're over it, I totally understand... we've implemented #9 & love it! Thanks so much for all your work on this! Julia

  • Final design Nav10 is complete but I think my personal selection would have to be version 9 as it best matches the overall design of the wiki skin and the main logo. So glad I could help out, I look forward to the next project we work on together :) WayToHope (talk) 16:19, 21 December 2007 (PST)
