ObjectivesThis contest aims to use wiki technology to benefit the education and humanity sectors. There are great organizations out there that are very deserving, this is a chance to get to know one in depth and share your knowledge of it with others. AboutUs is a world renowned Wiki, and it is clearly for 'About Us' pages, and more. AboutUs is a community, and not only a community, a powerful resource. Just simply, a resource that can benefit mankind and beyond. Your task and you may work in teams if you wish, but one prize will be rewarded, is to create/revamp a Wiki page on AboutUs (ie, aboutus.org/wish.org) to be professional, well written, and good for the eye for an organization of your choice. Outside of a design contest, content is a plus, we don't care for long pages, or short pages, but we care for quality. Your design should match the theme of the organization you have chosen. So an example, if you are doing aboutus.org/wish.org, for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, your design should be focused around children who's wishes are granted. Abstract designs are accepted if they keep a professional taste. Your content should be about the organization, and some of it's histories, and you are more then welcome to add a discussion/comments section to put your views of the organization in upon a positive way. But a full content revamp is a plus on top of design. The organization you choose shall be approved by Nick Burrus, by any means of contact, through a edit on Nick's AboutUs page or email to Here at AboutUs we prefer RealPeople, so your real name is appreciated. The real prize of this contest is the joy of having a chance to help the community of the internet, and yet a worthy cause. You never know who may venture across the page you have designed. Use this contest not for competition but for fun and the joy of helping a worthy cause.
The prizes are still under debate, but one prize will be rewarded per team. And shall be split on however the team decides, all votes of each teammate must be the same.
There will be three prize rewards, winner will get to choose one. There may be second or third place rewards, it is undecided as of now:
+ Two Months worth of ad free to your ad free service (minimal ad free, ie, ProBoards would be 14 credits), if the cost doesn't add up to more then 25 USD (doesn't matter the host).
+ 20 USD pushed to a PayPal account
+ A domain registered with the name servers changed to your host for your use for a complete year under Nick's account at MISK.COM, for quality service. You will be kept up to date with latest contact information to Nick to make sure you can change information on the domain if needed.
However, these may be edited to increase the amount given, or how many prizes will be rewarded. Right now this is debated.
