e-mail confirmation

I am trying to confirm my e-mail so that I can get e-mail notice on my watch list. The system says that I was previously sent a confirmation code - which I cannot find - and does not seem to be sending me a new code (tried twice with several hours in between). David Braden

Column for Ads by Google is too narrow

In the column of "Ads by Google", the width is sometimes not enough for the URL to fit, with the result that the URL appears to be truncated. This happens with both the old skin and the new one. --Eohippus 08:31, 5 September 2007 (PDT)

Incorrect whois information

I just got AboutUsBot to create Etfo.org, and the address shown is incorrect. Either AboutUsBot is using an out-of-date Whois database or something else has gone wrong. The correct address can be found at http://whois.domaintools.com/etfo.org or at Etfo.on.ca. --Eohippus 13:05, 13 September 2007 (PDT)

The Whois information we have is a bit out of date, and we have a WhoisRefresh project to address it. Jason Parmer 12:00, 26 September 2007 (PDT)

Subdomains and "almost-top-level" domains

This request relates to the subdomain issue, but proposes a short-term fix that could be implemented quickly and easily.

AboutUs already recognizes several domains such as on.ca and co.uk as “almost-top-level” domains which serve a geographical or category subdivision of a country so that AboutUsBot can automatically create entries for domains such as example.on.ca or example.co.uk I am not sure where the list of these "almost-top-level" domains is located, but I would like to propose some additions to it.

Many other “almost-top-level” domains are not recognized as such, which keeps articles on domains within these “almost-top-level” domains from being automatically created.

Please add the following as “almost-top-level-domains”.

  • gov.et
  • edu.et
  • gc.ca
  • nl.ca
  • mb.ca
  • nu.ca
  • k12.ca.us
  • nic.in
  • co.nr
  • gov.nr
  • k12.ak.us
  • k12.or.us (and k12.*.us if you can use a star that way - otherwise add the k12 subdomain for all U.S. states and territories, including DC), so that Mesd.k12.or.us can be automatically created
  • state.ak.us

Co.multnomah.or.us

I created Co.multnomah.or.us, but perhaps someone who lives in Portland could expand the article. --Eohippus 23:03, 23 September 2007 (PDT)

search and redirects

Search seems to be different now, with just google and no mediawiki search? Anyway, the point is redirects don't seem to work from search. For example, I searched for "Wiki Way" and instead of going to TheWikiWay, I went to WikiWay which is a redirect to TheWikiWay. Can this be fixed? TedErnst | talk 02:00, 25 September 2007 (PDT)

The mediawiki search is showing up for me (in Firefox on a Mac), but way at the bottom of my screen, and only after a bunch of whitespace. This must be a bug in the AdSense for Search implementation. -- TakKendrick
