What (summary)
Fixing the integration of OpenID with MediaWiki. Redesign the process of logging in and account creation.
Why this is important
We are supporting OpenID, but at the same time making it very difficult to use. We should fix this.
Steps to ReadyToPrioritize
- Understand the current integration and estimate the cost of rewriting
- Create a process without regard to cost (how it should work)
- Select a trade-off between optimal process and easy implementation or, if not cost-worthy, do a "quick" fix (changing text)
- Carefully write up the trade-off implementation specs in DoneDone
