Every October, Prospect High School presents an opportunity for nearby schools to participate in a fun, competitive debate tournament. The Prospect Debate Invitational lasts only one day, but provides up to 500 debaters the chance to earn extra NFL points, bragging rights, and experience. Public Forum and Parliamentary debaters in the region flock to the invitational, which has been taking place since 2011.

In honor of Georgiana Hays, a Prospect teacher and Speech and Debate Team coach who led Prospect to nationals twice, every April, Prospect High School hosts the Hays Debate Invitational. Debaters receive an opportunity to prepare for nationals and states while earning NFL points in a competitive setting.
