Description
Gallery Six Records is a new and different independent record label. Our focus is material that is consistently unusual, entertaining and provocative. Gallery Six's first release will be the Condo Painting Soundtrack Album coinciding with the motion picture release by October Films/USA Films, directed by John McNaughton.
Condo Painting is a fascinating documentary about New York artist George Condo. It looks at his New England background, showcases some of his technique, and unleashes him out on the streets of his current home, New York City. There's also footage of interviews with his friends William S. Burroughs and Allen Ginsberg, filmed shortly before their deaths. For more information on George Condo, view his biography and some of his works at PaceWildenstein, ARTseenSOHO, and at RSUB, which features animations of his Pod People, scored by Danny Elfman.
Village Voice calls the soundtrack to Condo Painting "amazing" and the stellar list of recording artists includes Phish, Philip Glass, Sonic Youth, Juliana Hatfield, Morphine, DJ Spooky, King Crimson, Kelly Joe Phelps, Joey Altruda with music supervision and soundtrack album production by Jim Sampas (producer of Kerouac -- kicks joy darkness, Lawrence Ferlinghetti A Coney Island of the Mind).
