Creating an account allows you to:
- Edit pages on AboutUs.
- Have a free online web presence.
- Have your own personal page where you can write a bit about yourself.
- Have a talk page which acts as an internal messaging system, where other logged-in people can leave you notes and have conversations. You will be notified if someone writes a message to you there. (Your e-mail address remains confidential.)
- Make a customized watch list of pages that you would like to keep an eye on and log changes made to them. This feature shows up as a tab in your account box when logged in.
- Upload images/photos. (See ImageHelp for instructions.)
- Use the move page tab to change the CamelCase capitalization of a DomainPage. (See AboutUs:Fix capitalization of an article to learn how.)
- Flag PossibleAdultContent pages. (See AdultContentPolicy for more details.)
- By registering, you can set your preferences to include such options as:
- How you sign your name (See How do I improve my signature? to learn how.)
- How many pages are displayed in recent changes
- Being e-mailed when a page you care about in your watchlist is edited
- ... and more
- Any edits made while logged in will be assigned to your name. You will be able to review your contributions by clicking my contributions.
- You don't need to reveal your offline identity, but having an account gives you an identity on this wiki that others will recognize. Logging in lets you build trust and respect through a history of good edits. This helps in allowing everyone to AssumeGoodFaith.
- Logging in allows distinguished and reliable contributors who make constructive edits to be more easily separated from spammers. Together we can collaborate to build the commons.
