- PROGRESO VERDE (Green Progress) - sustainable rural development & reforestation in Ecuador through productive community projects for social, economic and environmental sustainability, by CRACYP
CRACYP is an Ecuadorian-registered NGO. CRACYP stands for Corporacion Red Arborizadora Campo y Progreso, which is Spanish for Rural Reforestation & Development Network Corporation.
The website has information about our projects, which include eco-tourism, community banks, organic agriculture (sugarcane farming) and appropriate technology for agriculture. Projects in the pipeline include recycling, irrigation, bio-fuels and scholarships for young volunteers in Ecuador. A conservation project for the Galapagos Islands is currently negotiating funding - watch this space.
We also have a bit of local information about Ecuador and are very proud of our hummingbirds photo gallery [[1]].
