Before entering Inrix: His success paths at Microsoft:
- Chapman started as a Director of Software Development at Span Instruments, a Principal Engineer at AST Computers, an Adjunct Instructor at Orange Coast Community College, a Principal Engineer for Basic Four Information Systems and a Senior Systems Analyst for Burroughs Corporation
- Group manager -Program management team and served as architectural designer
- Before attaining the position of development manager he was a Technical Lead in the Consumer Productivity Business Unit-design and development of multimedia HTML component
- Development Manager at Microsoft for the Automotive Business Unit, where he was responsible for Microsoft's automotive client development team .
- Started as the Systems Development Lead for the Automotive Business Unit at Microsoft where he was responsible for handling all Operating system.
- He remained a Principal Consultant with Microsoft Consulting Services and acted as lead architect
- He serves on the Board of Directors with Families Northwest.
- Used to teach classes and used to attend seminars on Microsoft technology, tools, development strategies and the Microsoft Solutions Framework (MSF).
