Free or Paid Listings
When submitting your site, you can choose either to pay an annual subscription (of £7.99) or to obtain a free listing. A free listing requires a reciprocal link back to the UK Wedding Directory. For a free link, we require all suppliers listing on our directory to link back to the directory category to which they seek admission.
All links are assessed for their quality. The lowest base rating (1) is awarded to sites who link to the Directory from a links/resources page where many other suppliers also feature. A rating of 2 is awarded for links from a page with three or less external links (e.g. an "about us" page) that is only one click away from your homepage. Where the link is from the homepage itself or you have paid for your listing, a base rating of 3 is awarded. The higher your link rating, the better your site will rank on the directory and in searches made on the site. We recommend that you place your link fully ‘in context’. For example, a videographer might include the following text on their own ‘about us’ page:
We are Members of the Institute of Videography and our site is listed in the Wedding Videos category of the UK Wedding Directory.
The code for the example above is given below to help you. When you submit, the actual link text for your category will be displayed in the “Add URL” form:

Advertising Charges
The UK Wedding Directory appears in the top 10 on both Google and Yahoo! and receives over 10,000 unique visitors a month. Advertising revenue derives from the leaderboard banner ads at the top of Directory and Search pages. Banner ads are either paid-for ads from Page Sponsors or (for vacant sponsor slots) the Google Adsense programme. Banner ads must meet the following requirements:
- 728 x 90 pixels (gif or jpg preferred)
- 50k maximum file size (we will further optimise)
- animated gifs supported (max 4 animation loops)
- limited support of rich media (flash objects)
- third-party ad tags not accepted
Advertising rates (for a Page Sponsor) are subject to change and vary depending on the category. For Regular Categories, the cost at time of writing is £72 per year and, for Premium Categories, £96. The Premium Categories are: Wedding Entertainers, Wedding Invitations, Wedding Music & Wedding Photography.
To be our Site Sponsor currently costs £456 per year (which includes a text link on our Homepage, Category Sponsorship and Link Building support from directory members).
