Obviously since you've created a username, you should have some rudimentary knowledge of exactly what you've signed up for. If this is not the case and you are indeed new to using the Internet, I should give you some advice: Always read carefully what you're signing up for '''before''' giving out your e-mail address. In this case, you have nothing to worry about but in other cases, you could be signing up for unwanted spam, or even porn, scams, etc.

Re this comment, I will explain what AboutUs is: AboutUs is a free, open-content, user-editable Internet resource about the Internet and websites (and endeavouring to be more).

All you have to do to "get off this site" is close your browser window or navigate to some other website (maybe you're new to the Internet and don't yet know how this stuff all works).

Obviously since you've created a username, you should have some rudimentary knowledge of exactly what you've signed up for. If this is not the case and you are indeed new to using the Internet, I should give you some advice: Always read carefully what you're signing up for before giving out your e-mail address. In this case, you have nothing to worry about but in other cases, you could be signing up for unwanted spam, or even porn, scams, etc.

If you need further assistance, please contact any staff member or myself (I'm a knowledgeable user, not a member of staff). Nathan (talk) / 21:00, 18 August 2007 (UTC)
