Title
Bluegrass Stomp Bay Area Bluegrass Band
Description
About the Band...
Bluegrass Stomp can perform with as few as two and as many as five musicians, depending on your needs. Below are brief profiles of the primary members. Call us to discuss the details of your event and your budget, and we'll provide the perfect solution.
Jack began playing guitar at age 5, and by his teen years was playing fiddle, banjo and mandolin. Jack has been teaching these instruments at Gryphon Stringed Instruments in Palo Alto full time since 1979. He has performed professionally in the U.S., Canada and Japan, and has been a member of numerous bands including the Fog City Ramblers, the Gryphon Quintet, the Front Porch Swing Band, and Emerald (Celtic). He is also the music editor for Fiddler magazine. Jack lives in Palo Alto, California with his wife, Maureen, and three children.
John first began playing bluegrass music in the early 1980's, and has been an avid listener, performer, and teacher ever since. He plays mandolin, guitar, banjo, and bass, and sings baritone vocals. John has performed with several regional bluegrass bands including, most recently, Roanoke. John lives in Santa Cruz, California with his wife, Julianne, and two cats.
