After much demand, AvaMods had returned as of April 22, 2014 under the name 'AvaMods 4.o'. That server eventually faded out and went offline without any public announcement. Then on September 2, 2016 the AvaMods 5.o Alpha Server was quietly launched. It wasn't until September 16, 2016 that AvaMods made their public announcement about the server return. About a month later the server was transitioned from the alpha stage to the beta stage. On May 12, 2017 it was announced that the beta period was coming to an end and that the server would be transitioning out of the 5.o 'beta' designation. Then on May 20, 2017 the server was officially transitioned out of the beta stage and given the '5.o Final' designation, which is where it still stands as of today. The AvaMods 5.o server is running almost an identical setup of that which AvaMods used years ago during its peak around the 2.ii era.

This community is a group of petty immature and ignorant morons and you do not want to be a part of them under any circumstances unless you're like them..

Their so bad at the game they had to completly change it in order to get a 1-1 kill death ratio. They cannot play the game stock, they cannot play anyone with skill or they call hacks on them just to save face.

Every time i have been on their server, All i hear is a bunch of prepubesent teens talking about who has the best dope to smoke or swearing like little kids.

The Owner "Diamond Optic" from dodplugins.net is a complete and total LOSER and if you prove him wrong on his forums, He bans you.  Another lame attempt at saving face and making sure no one knows he's a huge power tripper.

He never plays on other clans servers because he cannot control that atmosphere to the point were he can get any kills.  He runs all types of cheat plugins on his server that allow him to add or take away frags for everyone on the server, make then shoot blanks and all sorts of really pathetic things, all just so he and his clan can have the advantage when playing against others.

Everyone in the gaming community knows that you dont break the cardinal rule of advertising you're community/server on other peoples game servers, yet he changes peoples names and redirects thenm to other communitys servers just to advertise his community.  Thats as lame and pathetic as it gets.

How insecure does one have to be to do that to another clans server.

you're awful at the game Diamond Optic and you're really a pathetic human being.

I'm not saying all of this just because i have a grudge against this community/head admin, I'm saying it because there are enough bad gaming communitys around already that give gaming a bad name. we dont need another one.

Title

AvaMods - A Day of Defeat Modified Server Community

Description

AvaMods is a community and team that runs a modified day of defeat server.

Additional Information

AvaMods was originally part of team cdrive, a Day of Defeat 1.3 clan that ran a 24/7 avalanche server.

After a shift in leadership in team cdrive, various internal conflicts resulted in a large number of members spliting off to form a new server. AvaMods was officially launched on February 1, 2007. The basic concepts of team cdrive's server were not only carried over to what was now known as AvaMods, but the applications of server and map modification were pushed to the limits of the game engine.

You'll find them running esquisitely modified versions of maps and privately developed AmxModX plugins to expand apon the original game itself. On top of all that they also provide a community-like atmosphere on their website and forums. You will also find a large collection of downloads on their website. High traffic downloads include their hosting of custom Day of Defeat maps as well as all the publicly released AmxModX plugins they have created. They also host a detailed statistical database containing player stats dating back to the days of team cdrive (November 27, 2005 to be specific).

As of October 27, 2011, the AvaMods DoD 1.3 server had shut down after 6 years of nonstop operation. Bringing an end to what has been one of the longest continually running Day of Defeat servers.
