What (summary)
Create a daemon (self running application) that monitors our placement in search engine results for a user configurable list of search terms. Provide some basic reporting and export into excel for more advanced analysis.
Why this is important
A spike version of this utility has been created to measure the impact of the CategoryAsCommonAnswers content project. See A spike version of this has been created as part of Measurement.
Should this prove valuable, we would like to have a maintainable version integrated with compost.
DoneDone
The project will be done when ...
- a user (staff member) can initiate measurements that duplicate (or correct?) those acquired by the spike version.
- a page is written explaining who and when people will be adding or removing items from the list of search terms.
