NotYet Let me start out by saying I think this policy is great. I do agree with Scott's thought though. I think this is part of a larger "Employee Benefits" conversation that we need to have. The fact that the Portland staff doesn't have health insurance is a much larger drain on my monthly resources than a one-off cost of a new laptop. I'm not saying that I don't support the laptop initiative (because I definitely think it's a great idea) but just that I think we need to start having the larger conversation before devoting resources to individual one-time needs rather than looking at something that effects a larger group of employees on a monthly basis. In a perfect world, we'd have the resources for both initiatives and I'm even willing to say, "Yes" on this one if there's an plan to implement a broader benefits package as soon as the resources are available (like after the funding round). edit
