- In any business environment, successful companies recognize the waves of change and take advantage of them. In the computer industry in the early 1990’s, IBM was forced to recognize the shift from a computing world dominated by the mainframe computer to one in which Client Server and the ensuing domination of the Personal Computer became the new wave. This shift presented an opportunity for Microsoft to virtually monopolize the market with its Windows Operating System and the packaged applications that are sold to customers and installed on their sites. Now Microsoft is under threat from online applications that are changing the way people use computers. Some years ago, c-Seven Media recognized this new wave and proceeded to take advantage of it, building its web based business which has grown successfully over the years.
